Pre-Zep: Meds & Supplements - Current List
While I'm waiting for the Zep to arrive, I thought it would be useful to document my current medication and supplement list:
- Losartan potassium (100mg): I take a pill every morning to help combat hypertension. It gets my blood pressure down to about 140, which is not ideal but is lower than if I don't take the pills. I am hoping that once the weight comes off I can stop this prescription.
- Multivitamin with iron: Since I eat mostly vegetarian (taste preference, primarily), I take a multivitamin every day. Either the store brand or a name brand, whichever's on sale, as long as it has iron and B12.
- Vitamin D: I take an extra vitamin D to combat the low sunlight most of the year in my area. Recommended by a doctor at one time.
- Marine collagen: I've had mild arthritis in my thumbs since I was a teen, which occasional flare-ups that required steroids. I stumbled upon marine collagen during an internet deep-dive, and it seems to be working. I've missed a few weeks when I ran out, and could feel (or thought I could feel) pain starting up. As a bonus, my hair grows very thick and fast now.
- "Neurobalance": A blend of zinc, magnesium, and B6. I started taking it to improve my focus, as once I retired I found that my brain bounced so quickly it was difficult (impossible, really) to buckle down and finish anything. I've always struggled with this, but the accountability of a job held it in check. Once that job ended, it was like the wild west in my head.
- Nexxium (generic): I've taken one of these before bed for years to combat acid reflux. I really, really hope that the weight loss will allow me to wean off.
That's it! I feel blessed that my health issues haven't required anything else, but I'd still like to pare down this list.
Next post, I'll document my current skin care routine. Not gonna lie, one of my biggest fears about going on Zep is a sagging face, so my routine will likely evolve.
